The Consultant, Sponsorships and Partnerships, is responsible for the oversight of NFL teams and properties within Verizon’s Sports and Entertainment portfolio, as well as the overall stewardship of these partnerships to maximize their value and deliver against Verizon’s strategic objectives. You will lead the overall partnership management and delivery of your teams/properties with a focus on: day to day relationship management with your teams, contract management, budget oversight, ensuring delivery against holistic ROI goals, and execution of the strategic roadmap including marketing, tech, commercial and consumer goals for the partnership. You will act as central program manager -- setting and communicating goals and details to other teams and ensuring strong coordination of all efforts relating to the partnership. The consultant works closely in collaboration with stakeholder teams including Experiential, Media, Brand, Regional Markets, Digital/Social, Communications, Product / Tech, agency partners and others to achieve key KPIs for each partner. Additionally, you will support the development of new strategies and planning for your vertical, including developing insights and providing recommendations on improved execution and optimization year-over-year.
  • Ensuring best-in-class sponsorship performance by executing and tracking partnership assets to maximize partnership value.
  • Overseeing contractual asset delivery ensuring 100% successful completion rate while tracking ROI and monitoring asset utilization and work.
  • Interacting directly with external team partners and act as key liaison and day to day relationship lead.
  • Partnering with internal cross-functional teams and Integrated Marketing to communicate and coordinate utilization of partner assets for marketing campaigns and local activations.
  • Assisting with the development of stakeholder and agency season briefings.
  • Communicating and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to provide strategic direction for how best to bring business objectives and needs to life through team partnerships.
  • Providing direction and execute on brand guidelines for all creative and other executions related to our partnerships.
  • Reviewing agreements, make recommendations, ensure accuracy and provide contract negotiation support. Tracking flow of documents internally and externally through to the final review/signature process.
  • Analyzing customer and fan data and insights for use in partnership and roadmap development.
  • Analyzing and reviewing sponsorship proposals and manage any response or follow up to submitters.
  • Following trends and best practices within the team partnership landscape (both within and outside of Verizon’s category) in order to make recommendations and take action on the betterment of our assets.
  • Supporting technology integration and innovation roadmap with team partners, including interaction with internal product team and third party vendors as appropriate.
  • Supporting Manager and Director of Team Partnerships, as needed.
You’ll need to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Sponsorship or partnership management experience working with high profile brands and properties at an agency, team or brand.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to not only work well in a team environment, but also autonomously with a strong attention to detail in a fast changing environment.
  • Ability to complete important time sensitive tasks with high proficiency, adapt quickly to last minute changes and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interest and knowledge in the technology industry.
  • Have a problem-solver mindset and be resourceful in recommending solutions.
  • Can-do attitude, high energy and good sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills including ability to create effective presentations.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter.
  • Agency management skills.
  • Understanding of the wireless industry.
  • Proficiency in software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel including the need to potentially work on holidays or weekends during events. For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $89,000.00 and $165,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
