maxbone, part of the Wag! Group Co., is hiring a Head of Growth to own the strategy and P&L for how we acquire, retain, and expand customers across every channel. There'll be a sharp focus on scaling Superfoods for Super Dogs into a category-defining pet food brand.
This is a leadership seat, and a player coach role. You'll set the multi-year growth vision, build and lead the team that delivers it, and own the levers that go well beyond DTC: partnerships, affiliate, retail expansion, and product-led growth.
What You Will Do
Set the Strategy
- Define maxbone's multi-year growth strategy across marketplaces, partnerships, affiliate, and emerging channels.
- Own the growth P&L: revenue, contribution margin, CAC, LTV, payback, and channel mix.
- Decide where we invest, where we don't, and what good looks like across every channel.
Build & Lead Growth Roadmap
- Direct and scale the growth org: marketplace, affiliate, partnerships, and creative.
- Set the operating cadence: weekly reviews, monthly business reviews, quarterly planning.
- Partner with Brand, Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Finance to align growth bets with brand integrity and unit economics.
Unlock Growth Beyond DTC
- Partnerships: build the partnerships strategy from scratch, including brand collabs, vet and breeder channels, hospitality, and tie-ins with the broader Wag! ecosystem.
- Affiliate & Creator: launch and scale an affiliate program and a creator network that drives both performance and brand reach.
- Product-Led Growth: shape the growth product roadmap with brand and engineering, including subscription experience, onboarding, personalization, pricing, and bundling.
Bring the Insight
- Establish the source-of-truth view on growth, including channel performance, cohorts, LTV/CAC, subscriber health.
- Translate data and market intelligence into a clear narrative for the executive team: what's working, what isn't, and what we're doing about it.
Who You Are
You're a full-stack growth leader who's done this before. You've scaled a brand into an omnichannel business and know the difference between vanity growth and durable growth. You're a strong operator and a strong people leader. You hire well, raise the bar, and make the team better around you. You bring a point of view, push back when needed, and rally people around the work that matters.
Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of consumer growth experience, with 3+ years leading growth at a high-growth DTC or omnichannel brand. Pet, food & beverage, supplements, or premium lifestyle preferred.
- Demonstrated ownership of a growth P&L at scale.
- Track record of building partnerships, affiliate, and/or retail channels, not just running paid media.
- Deep subscription fluency (LTV, CAC, churn, cohort analysis).
- Strong people leader who has hired and developed growth and marketing teams.
- Excellent communicator with executive presence and a clear point of view.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; track record matters more.
- Ability to work from our Miami, FL location.
