About Sygaldry

Sygaldry Technologies is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to exponentially speed up training and inference. Our AI servers will address the problem of rising compute and energy costs for scaling AI, enabling companies to innovate faster and more affordably. Sygaldry AI servers combine multiple qubit types within a single, fault-tolerant architecture, leveraging their respective strengths while avoiding their limitations. We're building the infrastructure for quantum superintelligence. We pioneer new domains in physics, engineering, and AI, tackling the hardest challenges with a grounded, optimistic, and rigorous culture. Our team is growing—we're looking for scientists who want to shape how quantum and AI intersect, and unlock the potential of both together.

About the Role

We are seeking an experimental physicist with strong laboratory experience in atomic, optical, or quantum systems. You will play a key role in building and operating cutting-edge experimental platforms for qubit control, measurement, and scaling. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, creative problem-solving, and collaborating across disciplines to make new quantum technologies a reality.

What You'll Work On

  • Design, construct, and characterize precision optical and/or cryogenic systems for quantum experiments.

  • Understand and implement protocols for qubit preparation, control, and readout.

  • Integrate control electronics, laser or rf and microwave systems, and data acquisition.

  • Analyze experimental results and optimize system performance.

  • Cross-team collaboration to guide system design and development.

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience working with advanced laboratory instrumentation and quantum systems including AMO physics, solid-state and/or superconducting systems.

  • Familiarity with qubit control, spectroscopy, or precision measurement techniques.

  • Strong background in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific problem solving.

  • Experience with Python or similar tools for experiment automation.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Why This Matters

Generative AI is bottlenecked by compute. Training and inference costs for diffusion models are measured in GPU-years and megawatt-hours. If quantum acceleration can fundamentally change these economics, it changes what generative AI can do—and who can access it. Your work could help make these models more efficient, more capable, and more sustainable.

How We’re Different

We believe kind people build strong teams: we prioritize mission over ego and share our thinking transparently. We celebrate curiosity, dream big, and forge our own path, but always with strong execution towards measurable goals. Our teams collaborate closely together, questioning assumptions, and balance optimism with rigorous validation. We move fast and build things, knowing that perfect is the enemy of done.
