Science is seeking an Executive Vice President, Finance to build and lead the finance function through the company's transition into a commercial-stage medical technology company. This EVP will partner with our executive leadership and functional leaders to define, implement, and execute the financial strategy. To be successful in this role, the EVP will need experience leveraging automation and AI tools, be willing to lead from the front, and must understand the complexities that come with scaling a commercial organization.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Own the financial strategy and the long-range financial model across our R&D, commercial, and Foundry revenue lines
  • Act as the primary financial partner to the CEO, Board, investors, legal and operations teams, and others throughout the company
  • Implement structure in the finance organizations and develop a team spanning FP&A, controllership/accounting, and treasury
  • Build and own the financial controls, systems, and processes that can scale with our growth
  • Build and maintain the operating model: R&D burn, commercial ramp, Foundry revenue, and multi-year scenario planning
  • Lead technical accounting for revenue recognition for the European PRIMA launch, R&D capitalization, multi-currency consolidation, etc
  • Own banking, audit, and tax advisor relationships directly

Key Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in progressively senior finance roles, including experience as a CFO, VP Finance, Head of Finance or similar leading a finance function at a venture-backed deep tech, medtech, or hard-tech company
  • Direct experience taking a company (or a product line) from pre-commercial to commercial stage, ideally including revenue recognition in a regulated healthcare/medtech context
  • Demonstrated ability to work at both the strategic and operational altitudes
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency finance operations (U.S./Europe a strong plus)
  • A track record of building and managing high-functioning finance teams
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent technical credential preferred
  • Genuine interest in Science's mission and comfort with the ambiguity of a fast-moving, industry leading technology company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior fundraising experience (venture debt, growth equity, or IPO-track preparation)
  • Experience with vertically integrated manufacturing or hardware companies
  • Familiarity with medical device reimbursement and market access economics
  • Experience supporting international commercialization or market entry for a medical device or health technology product

Salary/Pay Range:

For individuals hired to work in California, Science Corporation is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The base salary range for this full-time position is $270,000 – $320,000 + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
