Job purpose

​

We are seeking an experienced cloud infrastructure engineer with expertise in vulnerability and patch management, AWS hosting and cloud networking. As an infrastructure engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability, security, and scalability of our AWS infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, managing patching across our environments, optimizing our AWS hosting environment, and ensuring the reliability of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

​

1) Vulnerability Management

​

• Identify, assess, and prioritize vulnerabilities in our infrastructure and applications.
• Develop and implement strategies to remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
• Stay updated on emerging security threats and vulnerabilities, including using internal tooling to monitor
• Patch Management:

1. Take ownership of the companies patching solution for stateful servers and auto image builds for short lived scaling groups.
2. Plan and execute patch deployments for servers, operating systems, and software applications.
3. Schedule maintenance windows to minimize service disruption.
4. Monitor and report on patch compliance.

2) Hosting:

​

• Assist with design and management of our AWS infrastructure to support our applications and services.
• Management and maintenance of supporting IaC pipelines
• Optimize resource usage and cost-effectiveness in the AWS environment.
• Management and maintenance of security groups, IAM policies, and VPC settings.
• Monitoring of all infrastructure and services and assistance in improving existing monitoring and logging tools.
• Understanding and troubleshooting experience of AWS load balancer technologies.
• Support of auto scaling groups hosting stateless application
• Support of EC2 instances hosting a variety of stateful applications across foundation brands, running Linux and Windows OS.
• Support of Azure subscription running local applications and databases for a satellite office
• Ownership and maintenance of three Active Directory domains used across different environments.
• Experience in O365 administration preferable to assist with future migration

3) Network Management:

​

• Manage and troubleshoot AWS network infrastructure, including routing, NACL tables and AWS network firewall.
• Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Work with our parent company on implementing network changes into the corporate LAN.

4) Infrastructure Automation:

​

• Implement and manage infrastructure as code pipelines using Terraform & AWS CloudFormation.
• Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
• Documentation and Reporting:

1. Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations and procedures.
2. Generate regular reports on infrastructure health, vulnerabilities, and patching status.

5) Collaboration:

​

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development and information security teams, to ensure a secure and reliable infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues when needed.
• Assist the front-end support team promptly during product outages
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

1. Maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
2. Participate in incident response and recovery efforts when necessary.

Qualifications:

​

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on vulnerability management, patch deployments, AWS hosting, and network administration.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience with security assessment tools.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
