Senior Revenue Accountant - New York, NY

Position Summary

The Senior Revenue Accountant will assist our Revenue, Finance and Accounting organization with revenue reporting and ensure proper revenue recognition across the company in accordance with ASC 606. In addition, you will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day commission administration resulting in accurate and timely commission payments to our growing sales team. You will report to the Controller and work cross-functionally across both the revenue and finance teams.

What you’ll do

As a member of the Accounting team and supporting the Revenue and Finance organizations, the role will:

  • Interpret customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition per ASC 606 across our products and services
  • Manage Deferred Revenue process and post respective monthly journal entries in Intacct
  • Implement process improvements to streamline revenue booking / reporting process and shortening the overall revenue close cycle
  • Prepare revenue reporting and analytical materials to support companywide monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables
  • Assist Billing team as needed in relation to collections and invoicing
  • Liaison with finance and revenue operations in managing day-to-day activities of our sales incentive compensation programs including the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly reports to ensure accuracy / completeness of commission payouts
  • Perform testing and other support activities related to plan, quota, and sales commissions plan changes.

Experience you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or other related field
  • 3-4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting in SaaS technology companies or organizations
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or other similar accounting software
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce platform and/or Adaptive Insights a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with commissions software CaptivateIQ a plus
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, People, Sales and Clients in a fast-paced environment

The salary range for this position is $95,000-110,000/yr. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, geographical location, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
