Manager, Retail Marketing and Analytics
Lucy
Marketing & Communications, Data Science
Los Angeles, CA, USA · Remote
This role is designed for someone early in their career who wants to transition from professional services into operating. We’re looking for someone with 2-4 years in professional services (consulting, banking, etc.) who is looking to gain hands-on experience scaling a consumer business and is considering business school or a longer-term move into industry.
At LUCY, you’ll own retail marketing initiatives from end-to-end: from strategic idea generation through execution, measurement, and iteration. This is what “ownership” looks like: you have an idea, you convince others logically, you bring it to life with the team’s support, you measure the sales impact, and then you either scale it or kill it and move on.
You’ll report directly to our VP of Retail Marketing and Analytics, who brings experience from 9 years management consulting, 5 years marketing and analytics leadership in retail, and now LUCY. He will work closely with you day-to-day—mentoring you, helping you immerse in the business, and accelerating your development as an operator.
LUCY Goods Inc. makes tobacco- and smoke-free nicotine products, including LUCY Breakers pouches and LUCY gum. We firmly believe we make the best products on the market. The LUCY founders and leadership team have a strong network across venture capital, technology, and consulting and are here to help in the career growth of high-performing team members.
What You’ll Do
Be a data- and analytics-centered strategic thinker, who also can shape and drive marketing initiatives
Own retail performance analytics across products, retailers, and geographies: analyzing data, identifying key drivers, and translating insights into clear business recommendations including reporting and dashboards
Design and evaluate tests and initiatives by measuring impact and determining what should be scaled or stopped
Partner with sales, account management, operations, and e-commerce to support decision making and ensure alignment
Get into the details—store-level performance and real-world execution—not just strategy
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
You’ve built a clear, structured view of performance across retailers and can confidently say what’s working and what isn’t
You’ve launched and iterated on multiple tests and scaled at least one meaningful win
You’ve taken ownership of a key retail marketing initiative(s) and are running it independently
You’re a trusted partner to sales and leadership, bringing both data and practical recommendations
You’re comfortable operating in the details while still thinking about how to drive broader growth
You seek feedback and have absorbed it to visibly improve how you work
You’ve started taking on responsibilities above your level - the key to developing quickly
No prior marketing experience is required. However, we’re looking for someone who has developed intuition around consumer behavior—whether from working retail earlier in your life, exposure to consumer businesses in consulting or other professional services roles, or simply a strong sense for what motivates people.
Location & Compensation
Remote, with some travel and regular time spent working together in person
Competitive salary + bonus, with opportunity for equity participation
If you’re looking to take ownership, learn quickly, and help build something real—we’d love to meet you.
