Who we are:

We love nicotine. We don’t love that the most popular source of nicotine is inhaling burning ash from dried leaves. That’s why we started LUCY.

We feel that the best way to work towards eliminating the tobacco-related harm is twofold: intelligently designing tobacco-free nicotine products and making them easy for customers to buy online.

Our small team of entrepreneurs, scientists, and nicotine enthusiasts has served over 100,000 customers who, like us, knew there had to be a better way to enjoy nicotine.

What we need:

Lucy is seeking a Director of Finance, our first full-time finance hire, to lead and build our internal FP&A team. You will work directly with the CEO, COO, and external accounting partners to shape all things finance related, both strategic and operational.

You’ll analyze nearly every aspect of our business, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, and provide critical insights to help drive our biggest business decisions. We’re looking for a highly data-driven, detail oriented, and analytical person who knows the right questions to ask and has the curiosity and skill set to get the answers.

You would:

• Have a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business, engineering, or other relevant technical major.

• Have 4+ years of finance experience, ideally in investment banking, consulting, or in-house finance and accounting at a B2C business.

• Be an expert modeler. You thrive in excel and love learning a new shortcut. Forecasting and modeling are second nature and you have personally led entire financial builds from the ground up.

• Be an expert financial analyst. You're extremely comfortable within financial statements and can clearly communicate statements, changes, and updates in an understandable fashion.

• Oversee and manage all things financial, including our external accounting firms, CPAs, tax agencies and compliance counterparts.

• Be organized. Establishing SOPs and key processes to ensure we execute on our financial plans will be critical to the role’s success.

• Be comfortable coordinating with vendors on accounts payable and accountants on taxes due.

• Think strategically. You will work directly with the CEO on multi-year strategic plans, roadmapping the success of the business. You must be able to convert said strategies into a defensible financial plan.

• Define and track KPIs for the financial health of our business in collaboration with our growth and operations teams.

• Act as a thought partner as we build the financial foundation needed to scale the business.

Compensation/benefits:

• Salary and equity commensurate with experience.

• Full insurance benefits, including health, vision, dental, and FSA.

• Opportunity to work closely with a proven team of entrepreneurs with the ability to build your own career arc
