The Sr Supervisor Quality Assurance is responsible for working with Operations to manage the customer quality requirements and agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLA). They are also required to work with the front-line leaders to help coach/develop their team, openly communicate, align processes across the business units/sites while having a consistent approach to delivering results and reporting across core business functions.
This position will be responsible for covering when supervisors or Managers are out and may be tasked to assist the Manager/Director on higher-level business
functions. This position will be the main focal point for communicating with
engineering, operations, safety, security, and management concerning quality
related matters,

This is an on-site role at our Irving, DCC facility.

Candidates must have the flexibility to attend training from November - January during weekday shifts before beginning their assigned night schedule.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and process standards while maintaining employee morale and overseeing the training of new and existing staff.

  • Work with the manager to establish department and company goals, and rely on experience, judgement, and innovation to achieve them.

  • Drive process improvements and coordinate QA support for new product/new business line introductions.

  • Accomplish supervisory and human resource objectives such as interviewing, conducting performance reviews, one-to-one counseling/coaching and disciplinary administration.

  • Lead Quality tools training for QA coordinators and other supervisors as required(E.g., ANSI sampling, 6S audit, OJT, and database systems support.)

  • Work with the Operations Leaders to monitor, review, and analyze quality data and trends.

  • Act as a liaison between teams, shifts, supervisors, and departments, and partner with customer/client representatives.

  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives at the site.

  • Identify manufacturing and development constraints. Work with management and technical staff in performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions.

  • Drive engagement across the area of responsibility and work with the team to foster a strong, engaged culture.

  • Work with the manager to review the Peakon score and create action plans within the tool.

  • Review Tableau reports to ensure that the team/department is attaining the desired performance metrics. Follow up with the leaders on their areas of opportunity.

  • Prioritize, plan, and execute work activities in alignment with the department and operations priorities.

  • Ensure daily quality data reports are accurate and published on time.

  • Maintain flow of quality operations by communicating WIP status, requirements, and relevant changes to the next shift.

  • Coach/mentor other supervisors and leads.

  • In the absence of the QA Manager/Director, the Sr Supervisor Quality will oversee other QA supervisors and have signatory authority for Quality issues on ECRS/ECNs.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures while complying with legal regulations.

What are the requirements for this position?

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership / supervisory role within a fast-paced, high-volume, manufacturing environment similar to Assurant, York, Lewisville, or the Tennessee facility

  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment

  • Requires strong leadership, mentoring, organizational and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and be a self-starter.

  • Must be able to function with minimal supervision and be able to prioritize all work tasks

  • May be required to work across multiple shifts

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in a quality-related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with direct supervision and coaching of others
    Must be able to develop/mentor/coach first-level supervisors on performance and management of their staff.

  • Experience in auditing processes and writing work instructions

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to successfully interface with technical and non-technical personnel, such as inspectors, designers, buyers, vendors, manufacturing personnel, and management.

  • High-energy professional with the ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships with internal customers and external suppliers/vendors.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with problem-solving,
    brainstorming sessions, strategy development, and conflict resolution.

  • Driven, goal-oriented, never confuses effort with results

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.

  • Associate's Degree/Bachelor’s Degree.

  • 5+ years of experience leading other supervisors.

  • Experience working in a Lean and Six Sigma environment.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or R2 certifications.

Pay Range:

$63,400.00 - $105,800.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
