The People Analytics Analyst will support Assurant’s People Organization in advancing towards a data-driven and insight-led culture. The role is responsible developing advanced data models, and delivering actionable insights that inform HR and business decisions. This position combines hands-on analytics with strategic storytelling, supporting global HR leaders through consistent, standardized, and scalable data solutions.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Data Analysis, Modeling & Insights
- Design, implement, and optimize data models, pipelines, and dashboards in Power BI.
- Leverage SQL, Python, and advanced analytics techniques to analyze workforce data and provide actionable insights.
- Conduct exploratory and advanced data analysis (e.g., predictive modeling, workforce segmentation, attrition analysis).
- Apply statistical methods, machine learning literacy, and data science techniques where relevant to HR use cases.
- Use storytelling and visualization best practices to translate complex findings into clear insights for leaders.
Reporting & Dashboard Management
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards that are accurate, timely, and scalable across global HR teams.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and governance across all People Analytics assets.
- Monitor, audit, and validate data flows, ensuring reliable business intelligence for decision-making.
- Adapt dashboards and reports to evolving business needs and organizational changes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with People Org, Business, Data Analytics, and IT partners to turn problem statements into analytics solutions.
- Collect requirements, design reporting solutions, and train HR and business users on analytics tools.
- Proactively recommend improvements to data processes, automation opportunities, and reporting methodologies.
- Contribute to adoption and change management initiatives to embed analytics into daily decision-making.
Qualifications/Requirements
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, or data science
- Hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python (data wrangling, statistical analysis, or automation).
- Ability to analyze large datasets, derive insights, and communicate results clearly.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Experience with advanced analytics methods, including machine learning, predictive modeling, or AI literacy.
- Familiarity with HR/People Analytics, HR technologies, or cloud data platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, or agile project methodologies.
- Curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
