Senior Materials Manager (Mobile Repair)

The Senior Materials Manager ensures the accuracy, safekeeping and timely movement of inventory throughout multiple Device Care Centers by developing & implementing material management strategies to ensure efficient inventory control and distribution of materials, optimizing costs and productivity. This is accomplished through the development of lean processes and procedures that meet internal and external customer requirements and the effective leadership of Inventory Control resources through clear and precise communications of responsibilities and goals. Collaborative relationships with Functional Leaders are maintained to ensure Inventory Controls supports departmental needs and collectively the business meets our external customer demands.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Communicates with customers and other strategic partners to gain their input and support on the business objectives. Fosters true partner relationships that allow us to manage change and growth within the individual business.
- Creates and maintains processes that provide solutions for various internal and external customer demands.
- Provides technical and operational support during the business development process and new customer acquisition.
- Develop and establish document controls to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Establish, track, and analyze departmental reports / measurements and present findings as appropriate.
- In consultation with superior and subordinate supervisory personnel as appropriate, develops short- and long- term goals and plans for areas of responsibility.
- Develops, secures approval of, and administers an operating budget for attainment of agreed upon goals in accordance with approved plans.
- Ensures adherence to and administers procedures necessary to implement approved policy and provides the overall direction necessary to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective area services.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective organization for area(s) of responsibility, including a) efficient workflow patterns; b) established performance standards; c) effective delineation of duties and responsibilities; d) suitable staffing levels; e) appropriate supervision; and f) systems for timely communication of pertinent information.
- Serves as liaison with other organizational department leaders; establishes and maintains the working rapport necessary to develop cooperation and effectively integrate area services into the company’s overall business fulfillment system.
- Receives and investigates all complaints concerning his or her area(s) of responsibility and its personnel; determines veracity of such and (as necessary) takes corrective or disciplinary action and/or prepares reply.
- Remains abreast of developments in the field(s) by pursuing a program of self-development, participating in professional organizations, interacting with peers, reviewing pertinent literature, and so forth. Incorporates advancements when practicable and cost effective.
- Directs the preparation of records as well as recurring and special reports and analyses for area(s) of responsibility ensuring that they are complete, accurate and prepared on time. Reviews and interprets these in order to ascertain the extent to which goals are being attained. Initiates corrective action as necessary.
- Responsible for overall material accuracy for VAS (Value Add Services) channels by performing cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
- Hires, develops, evaluates, and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinates’ personnel or makes authoritative recommendations in such matter. Develops function-specific orientation and training programs for area personnel. Establishes standards for effective job performance and evaluates subordinates according to such standards. Delegates these responsibilities to supervisory personnel as appropriate.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree in any business or related discipline.
- 10+ years materials / inventory control experience in a fast paced, high volume (approximately 8,000+ SKU’s) manufacturing/repair environment with at least 5 years of data interpretation / analysis and logistics experience.
- 7+ years of leadership experience with at least 5+ years of experience managing supervisory personnel.
- Purchasing and Procurement Experience
- Strong process and procedure experience in manufacturing, automation, electronics, systems integration, life cycle modeling, new product introduction, process development and deployment, leveraging Lean / 6 Sigma tools, project and resource planning, and systems implementation
- APICS CPIM designation
What other knowledge would be helpful in this role?
- Working knowledge and understanding of MRP / ERP systems, WIP & Planning.
- Experience with Oracle ERP in a reverse logistics remanufacturing implementation
- Requires the ability to direct and manage multiple teams
- Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of Company personnel as well as external personnel
- Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Highly skilled inventory control leader with extensive strategic and tactical experience, results-oriented, high energy, high urgency, and embraces effective change.
- High level of customer interaction; frequent interruptions and re-prioritization of projects based upon customer needs, working under deadlines, creative thinking, working on multiple projects simultaneously, and ability making decisions based on various levels of information.
- Human Resource policies and procedures.

Pay Range:
$86,000.00 - $143,700.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
