Automated Machine Operator I

The Automated Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring automated machinery and equipment. They ensure that production processes run smoothly and efficiently and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process. They are also responsible for minor equipment troubleshooting and maintaining a thorough understanding of the machinery and equipment they are working with. The operator must be highly detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving skills. They must also be able to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Prepares and operate automated machinery and equipment to run a production cycle.
Set up and perform minor calibrations of machinery, as needed
Monitor and properly adjust computerize machine settings
Load devices into the automated machines for processing
Check parts with precision٫ using appropriate measuring tools
Conduct tests to check the operation of machines٫ on a regular basis
Troubleshoot minor issues that might occur during the shift
Pays attention to Andon/stack lights and understands when to escalate major issues to the right dept (Global Engineering team or Site Engineering Team)
Verify output to detect any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Create and maintain activity logs
Train other staff in the use of automated machinery and equipment
Operate machinery in a consistently safe manner
Perform inspections of machinery to ensure efficient operation and production and adheres to the safety regulations (lockout/tagout)
Follow production work instructions, whether written or verbal
Partner with Engineering Techs when equipment needs to be repaired.
Partners with Operations Supervisor to meet production goals and daily targets
What are the requirements needed for this position?
High school diploma or GED
6 to 12 months of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting operating automated machines or equipment
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Must pay attention to details
Strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in automation tools and software
Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues
Ability to use and maintain automation equipment
Ability to work to strict deadlines
Ability to interpret technical instructions
Strong computer experience
Ability to stand, lift (up to 30lbs), bend for 10 to 12 hours per day
What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
This position requires incumbents to regularly operate machinery and equipment. Employee is required to stand and walk, lift, carry and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Required the use of their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
Pay Range:
$16.95 - $27.12Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
