Overview of Position

The Director of Finance supports specific COO divisions, developing forecasts and performing monthly expense and metric analysis to drive improvements in operational and financial effectiveness. They will extract financial data from various accounting and information systems and perform complex financial and operational analysis of data. They effectively present the results for their analyses and recommendations to management.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Finance & Operational Management – 75%

  • Prepares monthly reporting for Operations Senior Management. Summarizes material key operating information explaining monthly results against prior month and target.

  • Analyzes operational and financial data and extracts and defines relevant information; interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project future performance. May make recommendations such as adjustments to budgets and forecasts and other cost improvement measures.

  • Works cross functionally with business leaders and data analytics to connect business trends and metrics into financial projections; partner with business to align and develop key cost/revenue metrics that drive business performance

  • Reviews cost benefit assumptions for projects and savings initiatives and then tracks progress to ensure performance is in line with CBA and recommends course corrections as needed.

  • Leverages technology to aggregate large amounts of data from disparate systems and recommends ways to automate and streamline reporting and processes.

  • Participate in operational meetings to remain informed on latest business trends and present financial results.

  • Performs statistical, cost and financial analysis of data reported in the various financial and operational systems.

  • Develops cost/revenue metrics and projections.

  • Assist internal business customers with the preparation of their budgets.

  • Present operational results and explain causes of variances to Site Management.

  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking by calling out assumptions and identifying root cause.

  • Provide financial guidance to senior leadership, support decision-making with data-driven insights.

People Management – 25%

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career growth through development plans and coaching.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and open communication within the team.

  • Manage team workload effectively, ensuring resources are aligned to meet business priorities and operational demands.

  • Encourage innovation and empower team members to take initiative and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibility for the work of others

  • Up to 5 direct reports including Analysts, Supervisors and Managers and up to 10 Total

Financial Responsibility

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting and target setting

  • Provide COO Leadership with accurate, timely and robust financial reporting

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting

Previous Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting and financial analysis experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to build data models, quickly manipulate data and conduct financial analysis.

  • Advanced skill level required using spreadsheet, word document, and presentation software; as well as database knowledge

  • Ability to create easily understood reports with little direction.

  • Requires strong oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate financial results throughout the company.

  • Requires strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize various projects

  • Innovative problem solver to think outside the box to generate creative solutions and drive impactful results.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Masters degree, CFA, CPA and other financial certifications are preferred

  • Cost Accounting experience strongly preferred

  • Operational experience strongly preferred

Pay Range:

$101,500.00 - $169,400.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
