is seeking a dedicated IT Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure the reliability and functionality of our software products. This role requires strong analytical skills, a meticulous approach to testing, and a strong preference for candidates with prior experience and knowledge within the insurance industry, including an understanding of insurance products and business processes. You will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and contributing to overall product quality in a Scrum environment that is located globally.
In this role, the IT QA Analyst will be responsible for creating and updating functional and automation test scripts, regression testing monthly releases, logging & retesting defects and participating in Backlog refinement calls to assist in refining User Stories.
The resource is expected to be proficient in functional testing and have a basic knowledge of automation and well versed in Test & Defect Management lifecycles. automation and innovation.
This position will be in Hyderabad at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- ·Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases specifically tailored for insurance applications, covering areas such as policy lifecycle, claims management, billing, underwriting, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance testing (UAT), and crucially, compliance testing against insurance industry regulations (e.g., AML, privacy laws)
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using our bug tracking system (Jira), providing clear, concise, and detailed information for development teams.
- Actively participate in the review of requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely and meaningful feedback, especially regarding their impact on insurance workflows and data.
- Develop and maintain robust automated test scripts using relevant tools and frameworks with an emphasis on creating efficient and reliable automated tests for insurance business processes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools, bringing insights from best practices in insurance software quality assurance.
- Monitor and report on testing progress, results, and product quality metrics, including risk assessments specific to insurance operations.
- Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment, participating in all agile ceremonies.
- Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the company.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Software Testing role, with a significant portion of that experience focused on the insurance industry.
- Demonstrable in-depth understanding of core insurance business processes, terminology, and products
- Ability to understand the architectural complexities of integrating systems and accordingly conceptualize relevant test case design.
- Possesses strong knowledge of test processes and applying standard industry testing practices and QA methodologies.
- Solid knowledge of API & Data Testing with Web UI experience using API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) for integrating insurance systems
- 1+ year of automation experience, with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) for complex business flows
- Experience in test management tools like ADO or ALM or Confluence
- Experience in cross browser testing on desktop / mobile / tablets.
- Well versed with Agile and Scrum practices
- Proficiency in designing and executing complex test plans and test cases.
- Proficient knowledge of databases and SQL for database testing and data validation in insurance data models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in complex insurance scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues and insurance-specific business logic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, often bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders in the insurance domain.
What are the preferred requirements needed for this position?
- Experience testing specific insurance modules or systems (e.g., policy administration systems, claims management systems, quoting engines, underwriting platforms).
- Has worked in a multicultural environment with distributed teams and is able to effectively collaborate to implement complex system requirements of high quality.
- Knowledge of performance testing concepts and tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) for high-volume insurance transactions.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Certification(s) in Agile / Testing / Automation.
