Senior Process Engineer

Under supervision of the Sr Engineering Manager, the Sr Process Engineer will be responsible for successfully implementing, documenting new processes and capabilities (automation, sorting, processing etc.) within the Assurant DCC network for existing customers and the onboarding of new customers to drive site operational efficiencies (UPH, CPU, Customer SLAs etc.). They are also responsible for gathering high level requirements and defining the set of measurable deliverables needed for a successful site / customer implementation. Experience with high volume, high mix Supply chain reverse logistics operations background. Attention to detail with proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing disciplines is required.
This is an onsite role in our Irving TX facility with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Accountable as the Site’s Point of Contact to coordinate all Process Engineering activities
- Perform gap analysis and solutioning to solve implementation challenges while maximizing use of new technologies (automation) and creating new process capabilities
- Create and maintain a site focused delivery plan and manage all associated issues and risks
- Working across organizational boundaries lead the Process Development / Deployment for new business opportunities, or business strategies that result in efficiency gains in the area of Materials, Manpower, or Equipment
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) for purpose of editing, revising, and creating production documentation
- Establish and ensure time studies / work load analysis are completed to establish operational baseline line balancing targets and lead / participate in improvement initiatives
- Support manufacturing operations with regards to device failure validation, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation
- Coordinate with Assurant QA and Materials associates to address line impacting component escalations and determine alternate source components
- Analyze production data and interpret results to direct improvement initiatives
- Design and develop fixtures / tooling to drive process efficiencies
- Process / manufacturing facility layout designs to maximize throughput, yields, and quality
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Associates degree
- 7+ years of experience for a degreed candidate or 12+ years of direct experience for a non-degreed candidate in process development and implementation, with strong customer service skills. Ability to provide a history of process improvement successes with measurable cost savings.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical,) preferred, or equivalent work experience in a supply chain reverse logistics high-volume environment
- Work from complex Schematic, layouts, and diagrams
- Work with Customers and other Organization Groups to document / develop process requirements
- Experience with Gap analysis and time studies to identify process improvement opportunities
- Experience with Minitab, Visio, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD, and / or Labview are preferred but not required
- Identify and report deficiencies and potential improvements to the department Supervisor
- Perform root cause failure analysis on field failures (returns) and repair process failures
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment

- Position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and operate standard office equipment such as a computer and phone
