Under the direction of the Engineering Director the Engineering Technician will provide Process Engineering support. The Engineering Technician will perform technical evaluation of new and existing devices, develop process, tests, and documentation required to support all production repair functions. PC hardware & software maintenance and troubleshooting skills are essential.
This role is based at our Lewisville location with a schedule of Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pm
What will be my duties and responsibilities be in this job?
Process sustaining support. This will include, but not be limited to, tool qualifications, process monitoring through SPC, troubleshooting and reacting to process issues, dispositioning material, microscope inspections and many other tasks as requested by the Engineering team.
Areas of concentration will include Mobile Device Technologies; RF (LTE, CDMA, GSM), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. LCD Touchscreen, Battery technologies, PCB Assembly, component level debug, automated testing, test equipment support, troubleshooting, failure analysis.
Work closely with entire team to achieve quarterly set yield and cycle time goals.
Work closely with engineering team to develop and qualify new processes, and new tool sets. This will include characterizing, documenting and possibly presenting data based around designed experiments.
Report and document process issues and equipment malfunctions. Take corrective action and interact with Process Engineers & Equipment Maintenance to identify and resolve non-conformance process and equipment operations.
Assist in creating new procedures, and refining previously existing ones.
Assist in training operators on both existing and new tool sets and processes
Coordinate with Assurant Process Engineering, QA, and Materials associates to address line impacting component escalations and determine alternate source components.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Associates degree or at least 4 years of technician experience.
At least 1 year of high volume manufacturing experience in consumer electronics industry.
Preferred skills:
Experience with remanufacturing of electronic mobile devices.
RF Test Equipment, National Instruments experience.
Proficient in reading and understanding technical documents
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
Ability to work from complex schematic, layouts, and diagrams.
Utilize multimeters, oscilloscopes, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and communication test sets.
OEM level 2 & 3 training

Must have ability to work effectively and take initiative with little continuous direct supervision
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to handle sudden changes in daily priorities
Must have a positive, professional, energetic, can-do attitude. “Do whatever it takes” work ethic.
Attention to detail and proficiency in analog, digital and RF disciplines is required.

Pay Range:
$20.49 - $33.81Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
