Actuarial Assistant
Location – UK Virtual, remote working
Full study support for UK Actuarial exams (IFOA). This includes paying for membership subscriptions, exam materials, study days, and exam-based pay increases if successful.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Actuarial, the Actuarial Assistant will provide high-quality output from actuarial activities, with the opportunity to progress in the business and commence qualification as an actuary.
You will offer insights for a complex business across multiple geographies and products. This will suit a candidate keen to experience a broad range of actuarial work. You will work with senior management and contribute to decisions made in the business.
You will be someone who is keen to solve a broad range of our challenges, be comfortable working in a small team and taking responsibility for several processes.
You Will:
- Perform Solvency 2 calculations such as Technical Provisions and Solvency Capital Requirements
- Contribute to model development
- Run and progressively automate essential regular reports
- Work with other departments to ensure controllership over data feeds
- Help with population of annual reporting templates (QRTs)
- Help with migration between actuarial software platforms
- Provide contributions to annual Actuarial Function Report (AFR) and Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) for both UK and Dutch entities
- Contribute to experience analysis and assumption setting
- Support senior team members with audit activity
- Ad hoc actuarial modelling and project work
You will have:
- A (2.1) result in a numerical degree - preferably mathematics, statistics or actuarial science
- Experience in an actuarial role in the general insurance industry
- Membership of IFoA or a similar body – or the intention to become a member and follow an actuarial career path
- Knowledge or experience of Solvency 2 modelling and understanding of relevant regulation
- Experience communicating to multiple partners using a variety of formats
- Data handling skills such as; Excel (at an advanced level), SQL, PowerBI, Experience of actuarial modelling software, Understanding of professional requirements
