As a Business Development Manager (Ottawa, Ontario- Canada) you build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, new and existing customers to retain business, promote revenue growth opportunities and positive internal working relationships to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction following the sale. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Dealer Relationship Building:

  • Develops a strategic growth plan for product groups in the assigned accounts to develop and increase business that is aligned with the overall sales goals.

  • Forecasts sales and margin expectations.

  • Set specific targets which ensure overall financial goals are met or exceeded.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with prospects, new and existing customers to retain business, promote revenue growth opportunities and positive internal working relationships to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction following the sale

  • Sets up regular sales calls, schedules appointments, prepares agendas and ensures appropriate follow up to meetings.

  • Responds quickly to changing customer needs and requirements.

  • Follow up to ensure information is accurate, customer's needs are met, and complaints, issues and problems are resolved quickly and effectively.

  • Provides information on products and services to enhance awareness, build business and create better cross-selling opportunities.

  • Ensures customers receive ongoing training and education on new and existing products.

  • Works in a team selling capacity, ensuring that the appropriate sales , marketing and technical expertise is utilized in the most effective manner to build and maintain strong customer relationships

Sales Plan Execution and Performance Monitoring:

  • Identifies new business opportunities within existing accounts.

  • Looks for new growth opportunities within existing accounts. Increases the overall product mix within that specific account

  • Works closely with the sales team within that account to identify new business opportunities; both project business and new product opportunities

VPS Sales Growth:

  • Develops an ongoing awareness of how market pressures affect pricing and quoting in various sectors of the economy.

  • Works within pricing margin guidelines set out by manager to prepare quotations and/or to obtain support from the Pricing Analyst in preparing the quotation.

  • Analyzes product mix, look for opportunities to maximize margin.

  • Follows up on all quotations

  • Participates in Marketing Initiatives.

  • Professional Development and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of CTC’s products, services, guideline, policies and procedures.

  • Attends and participates in training and orientation sessions as needed.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • A minimum of 3 years of sales and account development experience within the auto industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the auto and auto insurance industry preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Highly developed skills in prospecting and cultivating new business relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills, team-oriented working style
  • Ability to work independently and achieve results under pressure
  • Travel Required: Up to 75%
  • Self-starter, self-disciplined and target focused but able to work in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrates drive, passion and flexibility
  • Basic research and strategy skills
  • Working knowledge of current business software, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
