Exposure Data Management Analyst

The Exposure Data Management Analyst will be responsible for managing and maintaining Assurant’s data warehouse for insured property risks exposed to natural catastrophic perils. The successful candidate will work closely with Data Services, Software Developers, Exposure Management, Risk Management, Actuarial and other Business Unit stakeholders on various data management projects to support the growth of our property lines of business, automate workflows and provide detailed analysis on exposure changes to senior management. This is a remote position for candidates based in the US.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Become subject matter expert in end-to-end enterprise data flow for Assurant’s property risks
Monitor the automated monthly data process, investigate issues and perform monthly data tasks
Critically analyze and validate exposure data to ensure accuracy and high-quality results
Work with software developers and data services to improve and build upon existing automated data processes
Take the initiative to investigate data anomalies, perform root cause analysis and review code
Collaborate with Business Units to define new data requirements and perform user acceptance testing
Map new data fields from various transaction systems to the data warehouse
Maintain data reference tables and coding maintenance requests for products including catastrophe risk
Prepare presentations and reports to summarize exposure data and identify key business insights on a monthly and quarterly basis
Respond to regulatory data control requests
Act as main point of contact for third-party data tools
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or other quantitative fields
Proficiency with SQL commands and can write original SQL scripts to interrogate data
Minimum of 3 years work experience in a Data Analyst or similar role that interacts heavily with data
Strong knowledge of databases and experience in querying and working with large datasets
Understands ETL and data warehousing concepts such as data requirements analysis, table design and data governance processes
Expert knowledge of Assurant’s Policy Management System or similar internal data management systems
Familiar with insurance and reinsurance concepts
Exceptional problem solver
Excellent ability to organize and pay attention to detail
Familiar with MS Office suite, particularly Excel
Proactive and responsive communicator
Ability to perform well in a remote working environment
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Proficiency with Power BI

Pay Range:
$60,700.00 - $101,100.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
