Assurant has an exciting opportunity for an Audit Intern!

Overview of Position

Assurant Inc., a Fortune 500 company, is growing strong. As we prepare to meet increasing demands for our innovative products and services, we have an opportunity for a skilled, self-starter with an exceptional attention to detail to join our Internal Audit Services (IAS) Department as a part-time Audit Intern.

IAS is responsible for meeting the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Internal Audit and Advisory Service needs for the Global Housing, Global Lifestyle and Global Preneed business segments at local and Corporate levels.

We are looking for an individual currently pursuing an Accounting or Finance degree who is currently a Sophomore or Junior. We would also consider a Senior planning to continue education to pursue a master’s degree in Accounting and able to start as soon as possible, work up to 20 hours a week during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer and other breaks.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

In this role, the Intern will primarily support SOX management testing and various other IAS activities including new process implementations, template development, new system/tool testing and Internal Audit reviews.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

• Sophomore or Junior status with targeted graduation of 2024 and 2025, respectively, in Accounting or Finance, or Senior who will pursue a master’s degree in Accounting.

• GPA 3.0 or higher required.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).

• Keen attention to detail is a must.

The target pay for this intern role is $18/hr. The amount may differ due to a wide range of factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location.
