Primary Job Responsibilities:

Define scope of analysis and build framework (40%)

· Strategizes with stakeholders and business partners to identify data and business process technical solutions.

· Leads project teams in identifying optimal business solutions through data, systems, and technical tools.

· Implements data models by applying technical concepts of Data Science and Statistical study.

Analyze business issues through data and technology (20%)

· Designs global data marts and databases for modeling, establishes data governance guidelines for data mart and enhances the data.

· Evaluates & determines most optimal programming languages and tools to use for data mining and project responsibilities.

· Reviews tested hypothesis and presents results; provides recommendations and advocates for most effective solution.

Drive Change (40%)

· Leads the implementation of data models into business processes and builds repeatable processes with other Assurant teams. Stays abreast with ongoing internal & external activity and escalates for department engagement.

· Enforces and enhances governance and best practices for data models.

Leads cross-functional projects. Collaborates across lines of business to share best practices and leverage learnings.

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Information Science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in development and application of applied statistical analysis, modeling, and optimization; research design using statistical software and other analytical tools, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, forecasting, CART, performing complex mathematical formulations to solve large scale business problems, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications especially Excel/VBA, SharePoint. Advanced to Expert proficiency to various data repository platforms (SAS/SQL/etc.)
• Experience in working with any or all of statistical/data processing software such as R, SAS, Python, SPSS, MATLAB, etc.
• Basic knowledge of containers such as Kubernetes and/or Docker
• Basic knowledge of version controls using Git
• Experience in managing and manipulating large, complex datasets and techniques to build models that have driven company decision making
• Experience with Tableau, and/or Microsoft Power BI
