What's the role about?

Our Project Managers ensure the success of their assigned client portfolio by:

• Working directly with Sales & Account Leadership, and other relevant stakeholders to define project scope, objectives and a clear document of requirements
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive program documentation including a detailed project plan, milestones and achievement dates and standards
• Identifying critical project requirements and resources, and actively driving project milestone delivery
• Planning and influencing stakeholders and resources to ensure the program and product streams are delivered ahead of schedule and budget
• Managing the delivery of the program roadmap, achievement of strategic milestones, and the timely resolution of complex issues or roadblocks

The role requires a leader who is an expert with Project Management and Process Improvement methodologies, and is capable to coordinate and control activities across departments to ensure resources are aligned and working effective to achieve program and product milestones.

• Identify project requirements by coordinating kick off activities with program sponsors, interviewing stakeholders, analyzing operations, determining project scope, developing project specifications and milestones, and a plan to document progress and results.
• Works actively with Operations, IT and other function as required to deliver roadmap milestones that meet Assurant and client objectives and requirements
• Ensure program meetings and steering committee rhythms are held as prescribed and include key stakeholders to effectively make decisions and execute on objectives
• Deliver risk management framework including identification of risks, qualifying & quantifying risk impact, and creating mitigation and contingency plans
• Work actively to identify any potential risks, opportunities or issues of importance that arise during initial planning and throughout program delivery, and communicate to business stakeholders as appropriate for resolution
• Track and measure project performance using appropriate tools & techniques specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
• Rhythmically communicate to business and functional leaders progress and performance against roadmap goals and objectives for program delivery across all product streams to ensure execution of commitments and delivery of best in class client experience.
• Participate in client product development meetings, support the implementation of process changes or new service and product requirements, and provide regular status and progress updates to business, sales and operations leaders
• Prepare stakeholders for implementation by gathering operational requirements, coordinating training for internal or external systems or dependencies, and providing support for questions related to our operation for small or large change requests for existing clients.
• Coordinate and deliver milestone and post implementation reviews to continually improve and refine Assurant process, delivering an always better client experience

Does this sound like you?

• A minimum of five years of experience managing large, complex projects end to end, delivering on critical requirements to time and budget
• Strong interpersonal skills, an ability to convey complex ideas in simple language that connects and inspires, and a good instinct for business.
• Leadership, business acumen, commercial awareness, networking, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and analytical thinking.
• Ability to influence and manage cross-functional project teams
• Experience within mobile, financial services, general retail, insurance or similarly regulatory industry
• Strong understanding of Project Methodology frameworks and processes:
  • Cost models
  • Scheduling
  • Change requests
  • Program scope
  • Issues, risks, and status reporting
  • Traffic management reporting
