As the Product Manager, you will work under leadership direction and according to established guidelines. You will utilize strategic analysis of market trends and business opportunities to develop and implement Lender Placed Insurance products and maintain current products that lead to growth and profits consistent with Assurant’s future strategic plan. In addition, you will support the team by owning key state filings and evaluating new products, endorsements, and services within the product pipeline.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate key market and risk trends in assigned states. Work across the team to innovate, strategize, and implement product enhancements, new products, pricing structures, technology, and efficiency.

  • Develop quality standards, administration, and reporting standards for new products.

  • Deep understanding of P&C filing processes, forms, pricing, and actuarial review.

  • Analyze and create models for pricing, profitability, and risk profiling.

  • Research, test, and implement new underwriting and risk mitigation technology to improve product performance, profitability, and client/customer experience.

  • Support the management and development of the product and ancillary products.

  • Establish existing filings, new products or services, marketing strategy and analysis, integration, and operational center setup, including training key functional team members, developing and tracking progress reports, and conducting market research to strengthen the product's efficacy.

  • Maintain and update the database of primary and secondary competitors and research potential new product opportunities from competitive portfolios.

  • Support the ideation process by working with the team on market research and analysis, product idea brainstorming sessions, industry research, and working to create an innovative culture across the organization.

  • Participate in special projects that help strengthen the core business.


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of product management experience with proven, measurable success in developing and expanding products.

  • 3 years of experience with AGILE development methodologies.

  • Experienced with data modeling with Microsoft Excel or other analytical tools.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Ability to observe, interpret, and document workflow processes.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and work independently or as part of a project team to complete multiple tasks.

  • Requires the ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding ability to quickly provide sound decisions and perform tasks with less than complete information.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer service, operations, and IT, to introduce new products and services.

  • Ability to conduct industry research and evaluation, strategic analysis, and reporting of test results and critical trends.

  • Support the development of business cases for new Products and Services, including financial projections, marketing forecasts, and operational delivery.

    Pay Range:

    $82,200.00 - $137,400.00

    Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
