Job Purpose :

This role is primarily responsible for sustainably building Assurant APAC’s market position and gain leadership in auto OEM segments. The person will closely work with existing and new auto OEM clients, Reinsurance companies and strategic dealer groups to build strong relationships, identify business opportunities, submit proposals, negotiate, and close business deals meeting Assurant APAC’s profitability expectations. Coach and train local teams. Reporting to Global Auto VP Business Development, this role will work closely with regional cross functional teams to help win new businesses.

Primary Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities :

  • Understanding of APAC automotive market, OEM segments, objectives

  • Cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders to deliver valuable client solutions

  • Establish and maintain rapport with all key clients. Regularly facilitate review meetings and make periodic visits to explore specific client needs and anticipate new opportunities / initiatives

  • Win new business relationships with a view to securing profitable book

  • Identify opportunities, prepare /submit proposals, negotiate, win to grow

  • Have in-depth knowledge of market, competition, trends to identify business opportunities, new product introduction, participate in building regional pipeline

  • Ensure risks are mitigated, compliance is adhered to at all times.

  • Ensure performance is aligned with corporate objectives and business plans while adhering to internal and external regulatory standards

  • Develop and motivate team members to build a strong workforce to support and sustain our growth ambitions

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master's degree Business

  • Minimum 15+ years of post-education related experience, last 5 years in senior role managing large teams in auto segment

  • Well abreast with APAC Automotive market, OEM relations

  • Good leadership, Strong Communication skills, Team Management

  • Client-first attitude /approach /focus

  • Awareness of emerging trends in auto market, new technology like EV, Hybrids, Connected Cars

  • Solutions oriented approach

  • Not hesitating to work beyond office hours, manage month-end sales pressures

  • Visionary Leadership - Displays passion and optimism; Inspires respect and trust; Mobilizes others to fulfill the vision; Provides vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates.

Has a 40% travelling work
