Global Benefits Manager

As the Global Benefits Manager, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of best practices to assist in the overall design, development, and administration of Assurant’s benefits programs. This will include employee health, welfare, well-being, and voluntary benefits. In this role, you will partner closely with our Compensation, Finance, Legal, People Business Partners, People Experience Center, and external business partners to create innovative solutions.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Collaborate with leadership to review, recommend, and implement benefit changes annually by participating in the benefits plan design discussion.
Administer employee benefits, manage vendor relationships, review vendor services, and address performance as needed.
Implement or improve processes emphasizing automation, scale, and understandability while ensuring timely compliance and illustrating value to participants.
Manage the company’s annual benefit open enrollment process and ensure it is completed accurately and timely.
Work closely with the broad-based compensation and benefits team on special projects, including assistance with Mergers & Acquisition activity.
Monitor and ensure timely completion of plan compliance activities related to our US benefit plans, including regulatory filings and updates, notices, ACA mandates & reporting, plan audits, and employee benefit file transmissions to vendors, as required.
Acts as a subject matter expert for benefit policies and programs.
Counsel employees on benefits policies, practices, programs, and guidelines and resolve complex and escalated matters.
Serve as a resource for our People Experience Center team members. Exhibit the ability to concisely articulate complex information, and deliver a personal approach while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Support survey participation and analysis/reporting to recommend new initiatives that align with the overall benefits strategy.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the wellbeing program, including Assurant’s wellbeing portal and enterprise-wide wellbeing initiatives, such as coaching and wellbeing challenges.
Work closely with internal ERISA counsel to ensure required notices are current, and are distributed per applicable laws, including CHIPRA, COBRA, SBCs and SARs, SMMs, and SPDs.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of 7 years of benefits (health, welfare, and wellbeing) design, administration, and managing programs experience.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to benefits (such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.).
Proven analytical skills and functional benefits knowledge to solve problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities to meet department goals and deadlines.
Experience with vendor relations, multi-state employers, and global well-being.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
Master’s degree.
Experience managing benefits within a Fortune 500 company.
Basic understanding of Employee benefits laws and regulations.
Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT etc.), and HRIS skills.
Workday experience is highly desired.

Pay Range:
$82,200.00 - $137,400.00Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
