This position is responsible for ensuring the effective risk management and full compliance of Assurant’s regulated entities and maintaining a high level of both internal and external customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Maintenance of core AFSL compliance governance arrangements including policies and procedures as part of the Compliance Framework
• Provide Compliance support to all stakeholders including compliance reviews of all customer facing documentation and compliance reviews of new business initiatives
• Responsibility for the entire compliance monitoring and supervision program for binder holders, authorised representatives, distributors, TPAs and resellers including management of audits and audit findings/follow ups
• Provide training to the business on compliance matters and monitor and report on licensing and regulatory developments in a timely manner, including management and implementation of required change initiatives
• Investigation and management of all issues, incidents and breach matters and facilitating control improvements
• Responsible for preparation of compliance reports for the key governance committees of the insurer and attend meetings
• Contribute to the completion of reports on behalf of the ANZ business to the US Compliance function and implement global change initiatives locally
• Working with the Regional Compliance Officer & Chief Risk Officer to coordinate, participate in and prepare responses to any regulatory reviews - including periodic audits by ASIC and APRA
• Maintain up to date knowledge of ASIC, APRA, ACCC and AFCA regulatory requirements in Australia and FMA and RBNZ regulatory requirements in New Zealand
• Responsible for managing the investigation of escalated complaints and disputes including the IDR and EDR levels
• Ensure currency of AFSL and other compliance obligations with Corporate and local polices and procedures
• Responsible for monitoring of compliance with Privacy legislation
• Responsible for reviewing compliance of third parties with outsourcing agreements, including TWG as it relates to VSC
• Implement controls and risk management efforts for Supply Chain, Asset Disposition, and other key vendor groups
• Engage with Corporate Compliance on the implementation of trade compliance controls for ANZ market
• Perform due diligence and ongoing oversight for vendors, buyers & aggregators and other third parties connected with the ANZ business

What you bring to the role

• Degree qualified in a business related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years Risk & Compliance Compliance Experience
• Minimum 3 years in Financial Services industry (preferably insurance)
• Supply Chain/ Export Compliance and Trade Compliance experience preferred
