Farsight is the agentic AI platform for financial services, currently helping investment banks and private equity firms fully automate entire, highly nuanced workflows. Today, institutions will spend 80% of their time gathering information for and creating first drafts of materials by hand before iterating on and refining their decks, models, and pitches. We not only give them that time back to focus on what is important, but we also bring new insights and knowledge to their materials that they wouldn’t be able to uncover without the help of our financial-focused AI.

We work with an immense amount of both public and private data, delivering highly accurate and auditable materials in an arena far too nuanced for large-scale AI out of the box. Oftentimes, our product generates outputs that outperform the work of existing employees, resulting in quotes from our customers like:

We are a small, highly motivated team that is driven by creating technology that amazes. Each one of us wears many different skillset hats, whether that be development, sales, infrastructure, design, product innovation, and more - and we expect those coming in to have the experience or the motivation to wear just as many.

Our team has had a wide range of work experiences that have led us to be the fast growing startup we are. We have gained financial domain knowledge from Evercore and General Atlantic, gained scalable engineering skills from big tech like Amazon, learned enterprise AI sales from Hugging Face, and have learned the ins and outs of building successful startups from previous work as founders and founding engineers. Job Description

Farsight operates at the cutting edge of AI to deliver human-level work within some of the world’s largest and most critical financial organizations. As a Staff Engineer, you will take ownership of end-to-end technical projects and product deliverables, while guiding the architecture and design of our systems and services. You will help define patterns and best practices that ensure the platform is reliable, maintainable, and scalable, while providing mentorship and guidance to the engineering team.

You will lead by example through your work ethic, demonstrating the dedication required to uphold the quality we expect. This role calls for balancing long-term architectural vision with hands-on execution, making thoughtful trade-offs, and ensuring projects meet business needs and customer expectations. You will motivate the team to deliver their best work by setting standards for technical excellence, guiding engineers through challenging design decisions, and helping them navigate complex problem-solving scenarios. At the same time, you will be deeply hands on in our systems – helping scope, design, and implement the most sophisticated solutions in the market that are ready for scale.

Desired Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of leading technical projects or teams

• Strong expertise in Python and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred), with experience in deploying production-grade systems

• Deep knowledge of system design patterns and software architecture, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), event-driven architectures, and microservices

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)

• Proven experience designing and scaling high-throughput systems and handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data

• Ability to scope projects, define technical requirements, set deadlines, and guide engineering teams through complex initiatives

• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and ensuring reliability in production systems

• Strong interest in generative AI and familiarity with integrating AI workflows into enterprise systems

• Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and establishing technical best practices

• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Intrinsically motivated, self-critical, and driven to enable both personal and team success

• Positive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-impact environment

Above and Beyond Qualifications

• Previous experience as a technical lead or staff engineer in early-stage startups or large-scale tech companies

• Track record of influencing engineering culture, establishing coding standards, and implementing scalable development processes

• Previous development experience with AI systems, including utilizing closed-source models, fine-tuning and spinning up open-sourced models, etc.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows

• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for both compute-heavy and data-heavy systems

• Previous exposure to cross-functional product teams, directly shaping product features and translating customer needs into technical requirements

• Ability to anticipate technical debt, propose solutions proactively, and balance innovation with maintainability

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges between $180,000 and $240,000 annually depending on the level of experience of the applicant. Highly competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with unlimited PTO are included in the benefits.
