Farsight is the agentic AI platform for financial services, currently helping investment banks and private equity firms fully automate entire, highly nuanced workflows. Today, institutions will spend 80% of their time gathering information for and creating first drafts of materials by hand before iterating on and refining their decks, models, and pitches. We not only give them that time back to focus on what is important, but we also bring new insights and knowledge to their materials that they wouldn’t be able to uncover without the help of our financial-focused AI.

We work with an immense amount of both public and private data, delivering highly accurate and auditable materials in an arena far too nuanced for large-scale AI out of the box. Each one of us wears many different skillset hats, whether that be development, sales, infrastructure, design, product innovation, and more - and we expect those coming in to have the experience or the motivation to wear just as many.

Job Description

As Farsight’s Principal Cloud Application Architect, you will be the technical authority driving the architecture, scalability, and resilience of our products - both the Farsight web platform and the PowerPoint add-in.

You’ll guide decisions spanning distributed systems design, hybrid networking (on-prem ↔ cloud), and future-state architectures that meet the stringent security and compliance requirements of global financial institutions.

You’ll collaborate closely with our engineering, DevOps, and product teams, while also engaging directly with enterprise customers’ IT and security stakeholders.

You will:

• Lead architecture design and implementation of the Farsight web app and PowerPoint add-in for large enterprise customers.

• Design hybrid connectivity models between on-prem customer environments and AWS

• Plan and support cross-cloud and hybrid integrations, ensuring Farsight services can securely interact with customer environments across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-prem infrastructure.

• Critique and improve the design of existing microservices and deployment patterns.

• Evaluate technology trade-offs, including service language, messaging patterns, and data integration strategies.

• Architect future-state designs that support security, compliance, and scalability requirements of major financial institutions.

• Define technical roadmaps guiding Farsight’s modular, cloud-native architectures.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, engineering, and client teams to align product and infrastructure strategy.

• Mentor engineers and help institutionalize architectural best practices across teams.

• Engage with customers’ IT teams, present solutions, and build confidence in Farsight’s technical approach.

Desired Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, or infrastructure architecture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

• Proven record designing and implementing distributed or cloud-native applications at scale (preferably on AWS).

• Experience leading end-to-end cloud transformations or hybrid integrations.

• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, and data isolation patterns.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to executives, customers, and developers.

• Experience producing architecture documentation, conducting design reviews, and guiding large-scale engineering initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to financial services or other regulated enterprise environments is a strong plus.

• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservice orchestration, and asynchronous processing patterns.

• Experience with automation and workflow management platforms.

• Knowledge of database architecture, RDS/RDS Proxy, and data replication strategies.

• Familiarity with containerized environments and IaC tools (CDK, Pulumi, SST etc.).

• Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills; comfort speaking with C-level stakeholders and enterprise IT teams.

• Experience architecting scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure for ML and LLM workloads, including model hosting, fine-tuning, and vector retrieval systems.

• Familiarity with AI-native application patterns and MLOps frameworks for deploying generative AI solutions across cloud or hybrid environments.

• Proven ability to design scalable data and compute architectures that support generative AI workloads across cloud and hybrid environments.

• Strong background in data governance, compliance, and identity-federation (OIDC, IAM, zero-trust) for enterprise or regulated environments.

• Hands-on experience designing secure data-access frameworks, including fine-grained RBAC, attribute-based access control (ABAC), and secrets-management systems

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges between $230,000 and $300,000 annually depending on the level of experience of the applicant. Highly competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with unlimited PTO are included in the benefits.
