About Farsight

Farsight is the agentic AI platform for financial services, currently helping investment banks and private equity firms fully automate entire, highly nuanced workflows. Today, institutions will spend 80% of their time gathering information for and creating first drafts of materials by hand before iterating on and refining their decks, models, and pitches. We not only give them that time back to focus on what is important, but we also bring new insights and knowledge to their materials that they wouldn’t be able to uncover without the help of our financial-focused AI.

We work with an immense amount of both public and private data, delivering highly accurate and auditable materials in an arena far too nuanced for large-scale AI out of the box. We are a small, highly motivated team that is driven by creating technology that amazes. Each one of us wears many different skillset hats, whether that be development, sales, infrastructure, design, product innovation, and more - and we expect those coming in to have the experience or the motivation to wear just as many.

We have gained financial domain knowledge from Evercore and General Atlantic, gained scalable engineering skills from big tech like Amazon, learned enterprise AI sales from Hugging Face, and have learned the ins and outs of building successful startups from previous work as founders and founding engineers. We are entirely based in Manhattan, New York City, and are in-person preferred (except Fridays, which are remote).

Job Description

At Farsight, Engineering Managers turn ambitious ideas into reliable, scalable systems. You’ll lead a small, high-performing team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining the core platform that powers some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Your day-to-day will involve scoping projects, setting clear milestones, and ensuring technical and product priorities stay aligned. You’ll work closely with the CTO, GTM team, and product team to plan work, track progress, and remove roadblocks. You’ll review designs and code, guide architectural discussions, and help the team make thoughtful trade-offs between speed and quality.

You’ll also focus heavily on team development - mentoring engineers, creating clear expectations, and giving feedback that helps them grow. You’ll shape and refine lightweight processes that let the team move quickly without sacrificing reliability. The role is part technical leadership, part people management, and part project ownership - ideal for someone who can move fluidly between the details of system design and the broader needs of the business.

Do note that this is a hands-on leadership position. You don’t need to code daily, but you should be comfortable diving into technical conversations, understanding implementation details, and guiding engineers through complex decisions.

Desired Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineering teams or managing multiple projects

  • Strong technical background in Python and cloud infrastructure, capable of understanding and evaluating architectural trade-offs

  • Proven ability to scope projects, define deliverables, set realistic timelines, and drive teams to execution

  • Experience leading technical design discussions and ensuring scalable, maintainable systems

  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles (microservices, event-driven systems, distributed design)

  • Experience implementing engineering processes - sprint planning, retrospectives, performance reviews, documentation standards, etc.

  • Track record of mentoring engineers, providing career development feedback, and growing technical talent

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives

  • Strong judgment and prioritization skills - able to balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments and setting structure where needed

  • Passion for building world-class AI products and integrating emerging technologies into enterprise systems

Above and Beyond Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Tech Lead or other engineering leadership role at an early-stage startup or high-scale tech company

  • Experience building and managing teams of 5–15 engineers across multiple product or platform areas

  • Demonstrated ability to establish engineering culture and best practices (code review standards, testing frameworks, branching strategy, etc.)

  • Previous experience with designing and building career ladders, employee incentives, and other organizational processes

  • Previous success designing hiring processes, hiring and onboarding top engineering talent

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges between $170,000 and $220,000 annually depending on the level of experience of the applicant. Highly competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with unlimited PTO are included in the benefits.
