The kitchen must be able to execute consistently through both high-volume peak seasons and quieter local-driven periods, while maintaining quality, warmth, and operational discipline year-round.
Position Overview
The Sous Chef will support all BOH operations including service execution, prep systems, staff training, ordering, and daily leadership alongside the Head Chef. This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building strong systems and team culture.
Responsibilities
- Support daily kitchen operations and lead service execution
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training BOH staff
- Maintain prep systems, pars, cleanliness, and food safety standards
- Support inventory management and ordering
- Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Step into leadership responsibilities during service and chef absence
- Foster a collaborative, respectful kitchen culture
Qualifications
- 2+ years in a Sous Chef or kitchen leadership role
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead calmly during high-volume service
- Experience in restaurant openings preferred
- Passion for hospitality and team development
