The kitchen must be able to execute consistently through both high-volume peak seasons and quieter local-driven periods, while maintaining quality, warmth, and operational discipline year-round.

Position Overview

The Sous Chef will support all BOH operations including service execution, prep systems, staff training, ordering, and daily leadership alongside the Head Chef. This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building strong systems and team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily kitchen operations and lead service execution
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training BOH staff
  • Maintain prep systems, pars, cleanliness, and food safety standards
  • Support inventory management and ordering
  • Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
  • Step into leadership responsibilities during service and chef absence
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful kitchen culture

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a Sous Chef or kitchen leadership role
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead calmly during high-volume service
  • Experience in restaurant openings preferred
  • Passion for hospitality and team development
