General Description
Bar Blondeau is hiring seasonal summer support staff. This role will begin training in May and the position will end around October with the potential to stay on, business needs dependent. Support staff are crucial to the smooth running of a successful night. They assist the floor team and the kitchen in all aspects of the execution, anticipating the needs of every guest and server/bartender alike. Maintaining the order and cleanliness of the beautiful space, being observant on the floor to table needs and available to run food during expediting moments. The support staff are ambassadors of style, hospitality, and dining culture that evokes genuine warmth, knowledge, and gracious service.
Job Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Setting tables with polished silverware and spotless glassware.
- Marking tables between courses with the appropriate tableware, i.e. steak knives, oyster forks, dessert spoons etc.
- Clearing tables at the appropriate time efficiently.
- Running food, knowing and articulating the proper drop lines for every dish. Basic menu knowledge and allergy knowledge is expected.
- Floor knowledge. Navigate table numbers and seat positions fluently.
- Side-work including but not limited to: polishing silverware and glassware, resetting tables, organizing the sani station, sweeping, spot detailing.
- Maintaining fully stocked server stations.
- Greeting all guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
- Assisting the server in your section and bar team with running drinks.
- Communication and openness to active problem solving.
- Close attention to the state of our guests—Do they need anything? Is their table ready to be cleared? Could they use a fresh bottle of water?
- Clear and respectful communication with the kitchen. Our support team is crucial in the pacing, timing and accuracy of items leaving the kitchen.
Position Skills & Requirements
- Must have Sunday and Monday availability.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work on your feet for up to 8+ hours.
- Must have at least 1 years prior restaurant experience.
