We are hiring for Montgomery County and DC Farmers markets. Available positions include Farmers' Market Manager and sales associate. Mastiha is a growing food brand rooted in Greek tradition and modern taste. We specialize in premium pita, baked goods, and prepared foods that emphasize thoughtful sourcing, bold flavor, and everyday rituals worth slowing down for. Our farmers’ market program is a critical channel for brand growth, customer feedback, and community connection.

We are seeking an organized, energetic, and customer-focused Farmers’ Market Manager to lead our weekly market operations. This role is responsible for executing a high-quality market presence, driving sales, managing inventory, staff, and representing the Mastiha brand with warmth and professionalism.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys engaging directly with customers, and takes pride in building an inviting, premium market experience.

Manager Key Responsibilities

Market Operations

  • Work with Ops to coordinate and execute weekly farmers’ market setup and breakdown
  • Aid in transporting products, and display materials to/from markets
  • Ensure booth presentation reflects premium brand standards
  • Maintain proper food handling and safety standards

Sales & Customer Experience

  • Provide knowledgeable, friendly service to customers
  • Educate customers on product ingredients, sourcing, and preparation suggestions
  • Drive sales through sampling, storytelling, and upselling
  • Build relationships with repeat customers and market managers

Inventory & Logistics

  • Track inventory levels and communicate restock needs
  • Maintain accurate sales reporting and cash reconciliation
  • Coordinate product pickup from kitchen or production facility
  • Manage equipment organization and supply levels

Brand Representation

  • Execute consistent brand standards across all markets
  • Gather customer feedback and insights
  • Support product launches and seasonal promotions
  • Represent company values of hospitality, quality, and integrity.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years experience in retail, hospitality, food service, or farmers’ markets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather
  • Reliable transportation preferred
  • Highly organized and dependable
  • Comfortable handling cash and using mobile POS systems
  • Food safety certification a plus
Schedule Expectations
  • Typical shifts begin early morning (6:30 am start)
  • Weekend availability required
  • 2-3 weekday markets and admin shifts

Sales associate Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming booth environment
  • Provide samples and explain products clearly and enthusiastically
  • Answer questions about ingredients, preparation, and brand story
  • Make product recommendations and drive sales

Sales Support

  • Accurately process transactions using POS system
  • Handle cash and digital payments responsibly
  • Maintain an organized, well-stocked display throughout the shift
  • Restock product and packaging as needed

Brand Representation

  • Communicate the quality and story behind our products
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and booth presentation
  • Help create a positive, energetic market presence
  • Support team members during busy periods

Ops

  • Ability to transport product and supplies.
  • Setup and breakdown booth
  • Follow food safety and sampling guidelines
  • Communicate inventory needs or customer feedback to the Market Manager
Qualifications
  • Friendly, outgoing personality
  • Comfortable talking with customers and making recommendations
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather
  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs occasionally
  • Previous retail, café, restaurant, or farmers’ market experience a plus (not required)
  • Interest in food and hospitality strongly preferred
Schedule Expectations
  • Weekend availability required, for 3 weeks out of the month.
  • Typical shifts run early morning (630am - 730am) through early afternoon (230p - 330p)
