Job Details
About the Role
We are a growing New York City hospitality group operating three businesses: From Lucie, a bakery and patisserie in the East Village; Sunday to Sunday, an all-day cafe, restaurant, and bar on the Lower East Side; and Le Petit Atelier, our commissary kitchen in South Williamsburg. We are looking for a Finance & Operations Lead to work directly alongside ownership to keep our finances organized, our people paid, and our locations running smoothly day to day.
This is a hands-on, in-person role. You will split time between our Manhattan and Brooklyn locations and be expected to show up, stay organized, and help ownership stay on top of everything that keeps three busy businesses moving.
Key Responsibilities
The following are areas you will own independently:
- Run weekly payroll across all three businesses, with a solid understanding of tip reporting, tip pooling, and restaurant-specific payroll compliance
- Pay vendors accurately and on time via MarginEdge, cross-referencing invoices against statements
- Count, log, and deposit weekly cash from each location
- Manage new hire onboarding documentation, offer packages, and mandatory training compliance across all three businesses
The following are areas you will handle in close collaboration with ownership:
- QuickBooks categorization and P&L upkeep across all three entities
- HR administration and employee record-keeping
- Day-to-day operational tasks across locations - coordinating equipment deliveries, handling permit and licensing paperwork, liaising with our CPA, troubleshooting minor facilities issues, and keeping things moving when something breaks or needs attention
- Producing financial reports for ownership using Excel or Google Sheets
- Supporting the development of SOPs as the business grows
Requirements
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality operations
- Hands-on payroll experience in a restaurant setting, including tips and tip pooling
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, MarginEdge, and Excel or Google Sheets
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and taking direction from ownership
- Reliable, resourceful, and comfortable with the reality that no two days look the same
- Must have a personal laptop available for use
- Valid US work authorization required
Compensation & Benefits
- $28-35/hr commensurate with experience, with a 90-day probationary period
- Accrued paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per year)
- Pre-tax commuter benefits program
- 50% discount on From Lucie pre-orders
