The Fat Shallot is a fast-casual sandwich shop and food truck based in Chicago. We’re known for our crave-worthy sandwiches, fun vibes, and showing up everywhere from corporate offices to festivals, weddings, and private events.
We work hard, move fast, and have a lot of fun doing it. We’re looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and hustle — someone who can grow our catering business while also telling our story through social media and marketing.
Position Overview
This is a hybrid sales + creative marketing role. You’ll be responsible for driving booking all catering sales, building relationships, managing inquiries, and owning our social media presence.

What You'll Do
Catering Sales
- Respond to catering inquiries quickly and professionally
- Build relationships with corporate clients, offices, event planners, and venues
- Generate new catering leads through outreach, networking, and partnerships
- Create proposals, send quotes, and close catering sales
- Coordinate with our operations team to ensure smooth event execution
- Own and grow catering revenue
Social Media & Content Creation
- Manage Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms
- Create and post engaging content (food shots, behind-the-scenes, events, truck life, team culture)
- Shoot photos and videos at events, in-store, and on the food truck
- Write captions that match our fun, bold, and authentic voice
- Respond to comments and DMs
- Grow followers, engagement, and brand awareness
Marketing & Brand Growth
- Execute marketing campaigns and promotions
- Help develop partnerships, collaborations, and community activations
- Maintain catering info on our website and online platforms
- Assist with email marketing and promotional materials
- Bring creative ideas to grow the brand
Who You Are
- Sales-driven and confident closing deals
- Outgoing, energetic, and great with people
- Creative and comfortable creating social media content
- Organized and self-motivated
- Thrive in fast-paced environments
- Love food, hospitality, and events
- Willing to be hands-on and present at events when needed
Preferred Experience
- Catering sales, hospitality sales, or restaurant sales experience
- Social media management and content creation
- Experience in restaurants, food trucks, or hospitality is a huge plus
- Photography, video, or basic design skills are a bonus
