Lazy Bear is looking for a full-time Events & Operations Assistant with both experience working in restaurant service and administrative tasks. This is a hybrid role of administrative and event service tasks and responsibilities.

This candidate will be assisting the Operations Team with maintaining many of the important documents our team relies on and that our guests see when they dine; including menus and beverage menus, course component lists, menu notes, menu revisions, and floor and seating charts. They will also handle guest communications, such as calling or emailing with guests, answering voicemails, and occasionally interacting in person. In addition, this person will step in to assist with other essential behind-the-scenes restaurant operations: scanning and printing of files, organizing and maintaining the restaurant’s office, intake of packages, etc.

This candidate will also support the Events Team with planning and execution of private events on and off-site. Previous fine dining or luxury hospitality guest-facing experience is preferred - i.e. captain, server assistant, etc. Must be friendly, outgoing, able to multitask, and have the persistence to follow through and complete tasks without constant oversight. Must provide professional, efficient, polished, and courteous service. Must be informed and be prepared to answer guest inquiries or questions, accurately and knowledgeably.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years restaurant/hospitality experience, ideally Michelin environment.
  • Passion for food, wine, hospitality and the restaurant industry
  • Solid understanding of service etiquette and mechanics along with an appreciation for the little things that add up to make for a great experience for their guests.
  • Ability to remain calm in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to fluently speak/read/write English

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work quickly and precisely in a high-pressure environment, and handle stress and direct feedback with poise and integrity
  • Create and maintain all menu recipes, labels, menu interiors for special events from digital to print through Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Enter guest information into the Lazy Bear ticketing system in order to ensure that data is accurate and comprehensive
  • Conduct efficient and professional reservation and dietary needs phone calls
  • Handle multiple requests at any one time while maintaining composure
  • Display a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times in dealing with guests and employees
  • Respond to written communication in a professional and timely manner
  • Work with colleagues on other teams to ensure that all guests requests are met
  • Anticipate guests’ needs in event service and provide well thought through solutions to any issues
  • Learn about food and wine at a world-class level with a passionate team of people who really care about what they do.
  • Cultivating an unprecedented guest experience by not only providing the highest technical level of service to guests, but doing so with joy and effusiveness.
  • Contribute to and elevate service with a strong attention to detail, and dedication to standards.
  • Work closely with culinary team to have a full understanding of our menu and overall mission
  • Communicate with guests and coworkers in a refined, clear, and efficient manner
  • Maintain an elegant and professional manner on the floor at all times
  • Handle initial guest issues or complaints, while keeping management fully informed to solve issues, and escalate to management as required
  • Be an ambassador at all times for Lazy Bear
  • Complete any project or other tasks assigned by management
