We’re looking for a Head Chef for our two sushi restaurants — Chemistry Room and Sushi Lab — in Midtown Manhattan. This role oversees both concepts and sets the culinary tone, quality standards, and guest experience across each location. What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead sushi and omakase execution across Chemistry Room and Sushi Lab

• Create high-quality sushi and omakase dishes that consistently impress guests

• Prepare various types of sushi according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, and presentation

• Maintain the highest standards of freshness, consistency, and presentation

• Oversee kitchen flow, cleanliness, and organization at both locations

• Collaborate closely with service teams to ensure seamless operations

• Help design seasonal menus and creative new offerings

• Engage with guests to create a personalized, memorable dining experience

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• 3+ years of experience as a Sushi Chef (omakase experience required)

• Previous leadership or head chef experience strongly preferred

• Strong command of sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation

• Ability to manage quality and consistency across multiple outlets

• Calm, focused, and effective under pressure

• Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

• Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

• Positive, guest-focused leadership style
