Major Food Group is hiring an experienced Purchasing Analyst to join our growing team!

The Purchasing Manager is a key member of Major Food Group’s Purchasing Team whose primary role is to support the Purchasing Director in managing food cost and purchasing operations. This role will collaborate with our operations team to analyze inventory and purchasing data to achieve lower COGS and increase operational efficiencies, in turn improving unit economics.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize inventory management software to generate on-demand insights to support operational decision making in regards to COGS, waste, and variance goals
  • Collaborate with Director of Purchasing and Chefs in maintaining or lowering budgeted food and controllable costs
  • Generate food cost reports to assist in the evaluation of controllable financials on a weekly basis
  • Calculate recipe costs and theoreticals for restaurants across Major Food Group.
  • Ensure best practices are being utilized including:
    • Purchases based on competitive pricing
    • Establishing and maintaining pars
    • Inventory rotation
  • Assist and eventually lead continued learning/training sessions
  • Identify sourcing strategies for commodities to achieve MFG objectives
  • Assist with product sourcing and vendor relationships
  • Ensure new openings have stable supply chain in place
  • Identify products for national pricing for MFG brands
  • Ensures compliance with all brand established systems and procedures
  • Ad Hoc departmental and operational support

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Supply Chain or Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Purchasing preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Proficient knowledge in recipe costing, purchasing & inventory; experience with inventory management systems is preferred.
  • Integrity and ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to strategically think, logistically plan and proactively problem solve.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating within restaurants.
  • Concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Computer Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs).
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented and organized
