Blue Whale Restaurant and Lounge is looking for a Bilingual (English-Mandarin) Event Manager to bring elevated service and food to the Union Street corridor. Role Overview:

The Sales and Events Manager will help drive sales within the restaurant by building solid sales through events and outs of the restaurant. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that offers fantastic rewards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong sales and events background and be a creative problem solver. They will instinctively put people first, including guests and team members. We are looking for a skilled, natural leader who has an entrepreneurial mindset and maintains poise under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to increase event bookings and sales targets quarterly.

• Lead the planning and execution of all events, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional service.

• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and vision, turning ideas into reality.

• Anticipate and address any issues or special requests, ensuring guest satisfaction.

• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, continually seeking opportunities for improvement.

• Foster strong relationships with guests, vendors, and partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in event management or related roles.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry with a focus on events.

• Self-motivated individual driven to excel and advance within the company.

• Demonstrates high levels of flexibility and commitment to meeting event demands.

• Possesses a vibrant, enthusiastic, and confident personality.

• Excellent supervisory and management skills specific to event management.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to move with agility, stand for extended periods, and bend as necessary.

• Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 15 lbs.
