Overview

il Buco Restaurant Group is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic servers, backwaiters, and bartenders for Il Buco al Mare, our restaurant in the Hamptons. As a front-of-house (FOH) team member, you will play a crucial role in the service flow and overall guest experience. You will be the conductor of this experience, so it’s essential to have a genuine appreciation for hospitality and effective communication skills regarding our menus. A sound knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails is important, and you should be eager to share this knowledge with our guests. Your primary goal will be to maintain a positive dining atmosphere for everyone.

The Cuisine:

Il Buco al Mare’s simple, relaxed menu presents the best local seafood & produce— Ancient grain focaccias, imported tinned fish from the Iberian Peninsula and Italy, and seasonal fare from our wood burning oven.

The unique wine list highlights small, multi-gener­ational producers focusing on coastal regions and wines touched by the sea to capture the feeling of ‘al mare’.

Please note that proven experience at a high-end, fast-paced restaurant is required. RESUME IS REQUIRED

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDES:

  • Anticipate guests’ needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience.
  • Inspect dining room, table settings, chairs, floors, proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
  • Receive and greet members guests; assist with seating if necessary.
  • Check tables throughout service times for guest satisfaction, and resolve guest issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu and presentation standards and sound knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques

Physical Demands & Essential Functions

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, touching, hearing, speaking, reaching, occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Polished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years experience in a high-volume, fine-dining restaurant
  • Available to work weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Able to maintain a professional, yet welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times
