Pastry Chef - Growing SD Group
Renowned, thriving San Diego restaurant group is looking for a highly organized pastry chef to lead the pastry program for their multiple ingredient-driven concepts. This is a creative role, with also an emphasis on production oversight with a small team. A great opportunity to step into a bigger picture role with an energetic, high-volume group that values quality product and execution.
Pastry Chef Responsibilities:
- Continue an organized, high functioning pastry program
- Oversee, lead, coach and mentor the pastry team
- Cost management of ingredients, labor, supplies and equipment as needed
- Administrative duties: scheduling, ordering, inventory
- Maintain a sanitary kitchen and ensure established food safety guidelines are followed
- Collaborate creatively with team on pastry menu and plated desserts
Pastry Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or 1 year as an Executive Pastry Chef
- Production experience required
- Past hotel experience helpful
- Varied cuisine exposure a plus
- Time management skills to create production schedules
- Ability to create an efficient pastry program for multiple concepts
- Strives for perfection and has genuine passion for high-quality ingredients
- Flexible schedule: early mornings, weekends, nights and holidays as needed
Compensation includes:
- Base salary range: $80-85k
