Job Title: Director of Hospitality Location: Steamboat Springs, CO.
WHO WE ARE
The Home Ranch is a luxury western resort in charming Clark, located 15 miles North of Steamboat Springs Colorado.
The Home Ranch has a rich history in the Yampa Valley, pioneering the dude ranch industry, providing guests with a one of a kind Relais & Châteaux experience.
Currently, the ranch is undergoing complete and total renovations. Scheduled to be completed in 2024, and doors opening for hospitality in 2025.
The ranch will be a part time private resort for friends and family, and part time paying customers.
Hospitality will include approximately 150 days a year of weddings, corporate events, entire property rent outs, community farm to table dining, and friends of the family. We strive to be the best western wedding destination in the world and expect nothing short of that.
In addition to hospitality, we operate on site, a beef, farm and performance horse program.
WHAT WE OFFER GUESTS
The Home Ranch has an abundance of activities for guests to enjoy onsite during their stay, regardless of the time of year, with exquisite lodging accommodations. Guests will enjoy sleeping in their personal fully accommodated cabins. During the day they will wander over to the 15,000 square foot gathering hall, where they will experience world class hospitality, dining and activities. The ranch totals 2,300 acres, 3 miles of river, 7 acres of lake and 10,000 square feet of exercise, swimming, and spa area.

Director of Hospitality
The hospitality manager is responsible for all aspects of hospitality, including overall guest experience, activity coordination, front office, event coordination, wedding planner point of contact, recruiting and training, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage. This role requires strong leadership and a genuine desire to meet the demands of our high expectations for hospitality.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure software and technology is efficiently and effectively used to schedule, manage, plan, market, book, and sell.

Recruit, Hire, and train personnel for staffing needs.

Learning guests’ names and greeting them by name.

Manage front office team to ensure the guest experience is seamless, welcoming, and comfortable.

Provide leadership to housekeeping & Maintenance teams, facilitating the highest standards of cleanliness and facility condition.

Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to maintain company presentation standards.

Ensure safety and security of the property, staff, and guests.

Oversee culinary and front of house dining operations.

Build and maintain a positive rapport with the local community.

Oversee wedding, event, and group inquiry and booking process, and provide Ranch related guidance throughout planning process.

Coordinate Ranch staff to ensure wedding, event, and group bookings are executed seamlessly.

Act as onsite coordinator and manager for smaller events and group bookings.

Act as the primary point of contact for outside event planning teams who will manage larger weddings and events.

Act as a property tour guide for event planning teams, during their venue selection process.

Coordinate guest activities and entertainment.

Coordinate food supply with our on-site beef and produce businesses.

Attending to the needs of family and friends in the same manner.
Ideal Candidate
-
College degree, or at least 5 years of related work experience in hospitality and business management.

Proven record as a successful leader as an assistant manager, manager, or director.

English and Spanish speaking

Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, organized and ability to motivate others.

Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Reliability and honesty.

Having a heart for hospitality

Flexible in schedule and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.

Chef/Cooking and/or Food and Beverage experience

Experience with software including Microsoft, Apple, G Suites, Revstream, Asana, POS.

Clark is a charming town with an abundance of recreation. Located 20 miles north of a world-famous ski resort, Steamboat Springs. You should enjoy winter activities, we get a lot of snow, but our Spring, Summer and Fall is spectacular. This job offers the unique benefit of using the ranch’s activity amenities when not in use by customers. Our private horse trail riding and cross-country skiing is world class. The city of Steamboat Springs offers all the necessary shopping and dining a person needs, just 20 minutes down the road. In Clark, we have a general store and a couple of restaurants and bars. It’s the best of both worlds, small town charm and resort town amenities.
We anticipate hiring this position in August of 2024 or sooner. The Director of Hospitality will be our first hospitality employee and you will recruit future employees as needed.
In 2024 the Hospitality Director will work closely with the Ranch Manager and Owner to craft a hospitality program to compliment and fit the needs of the ranch and family. Spring 2025 you will be recruiting seasonal employees and netting high end wedding planners to consider our property. The summer of 2025 we anticipate about 5 events, increasing every subsequent year. When there aren’t formal events, the ranch is a revolving door of family, friends and business associates.
