Job Details
Vesuvio bakery serves specialty coffee, matcha, tea, and in-house baked pastries with an emphasis on Italian patisserie. We bake everything in-house from scratch, and would like to continue expanding the menu with your help. We are looking for a Head Baker with strong team-leading and organizational skills with a passion for experimenting with exciting flavors and developing new pastries.
Responsibilities

Training staff in production & baking of the cafe’s pastries

Managing production schedule

Creating new pastries for the cafe menu

Checking inventory & ordering ingredients
-
Ensuring high standards are met daily & with every task
-
Tracking & recording pastry sales & ingredient prices
-
Checking & maintaining quality of ingredients/pastries

Managing & fulfilling customer orders

Improving team performance through training & reviewing

Creating & maintaining a positive & communicative environment

Maintaining standards of cleaning & adherence to food safety guidelines
Requirements

Experience in managing

Experience in pastry/baking
- Experience in dough lamination

Flexibility in schedule

Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers

Strong organizational skills

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs & standing for long periods of time

NYC Food Handlers Certificate
