We are looking for a GM to run a unique farm-to-table dining concept dedicated to providing an exceptional culinary experience centered around fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. Nestled in the heart of Manhattan, our establishment offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere where guests can savor delicious food with a focus on sustainability and taste.
POSITION SUMMARY
The General Manager directs, implements, and maintains a service and management philosophy, which serves as a guide to respective staff and takes the necessary steps to achieve stated objectives in sales, cost environment, employee retention, cleanliness, and sanitation. A dynamic and results-driven hospitality professional with a proven track record in the management of farm-to-table and organic-focused restaurants. Boasting extensive experience in overseeing restaurant operations, leading teams, and delivering outstanding guest service in relaxed yet upscale dining environments. Possesses a genuine passion for sustainability, local sourcing, and culinary innovation. Has successfully driven revenue, improved service standards, and led teams to reach their fullest potential.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate positive guest relations, promptly address complaints, and ensure overall guest satisfaction
- Be a visible and hands-on presence during service to uphold service standards and anticipate guest needs
- Guide, direct, and train service staff, maintaining a focus on fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Oversee financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Maintain a high standard of food preparation and service quality, fostering a commitment to excellence
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment, implementing security procedures to protect employees, guests, and company assets
- Communicate effectively with the back-of-house team, addressing pace of service, special needs, and guest satisfaction
- Provide direction on operational and procedural matters, enforcing disciplinary actions as necessary
- Support recruitment, hiring, and training of managers and hourly employees, promoting a positive employee experience
- Enforce disciplinary actions as needed
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business need
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A minimum of seven years’ management experience in a fast-paced restaurant management
- Experience in a farm-to-table or organic-focused restaurant is highly desirable
- Strong background in upholding guest service standards and organizational multitasking
- Proficient in various dimensions of restaurant functions, including food planning, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, and recordkeeping
- Strong analytical capabilities including budgetary and financial acumen
- POS and computer literate with the ability to learn and adapt to using all programs
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with demonstrated emotional intelligence in team management
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and positive employee culture
- Professional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed guest's expectations
- Ability to work in an ever-changing environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly.
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($100,000.00 - $120,000.00)
