We are looking for a full-time barista with a passion for specialty coffee and a focus on hospitality to join our team at Patti Ann’s Bakery. Greg Baxtrom's Family restaurant and bakery on Vandrbilt is part of the Olmsted and Petite Petate family on Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn. Our Bakery and Resaurant are both buzzing with energy on a daily basis. Offering morning shifts, we are looking for problem solvers, who have experience in a fast paced cafe or restaurant environment.

Requirements:

• Knowledge and understanding of specialty coffee / tea
• Properly prepare all beverages to the highest standards
• Must understand all the machines used during coffee service including the grinders, percolators and espresso machine and maintain these machines to spec
• Dial in drip coffee and espresso machine
• Foam milk correctly
• Maintain cleanliness and always restock equipment as needed.
• Ability to multitask in high-volume service
• Proficient use of POS functions
• Cash handling and communication skills with management done with utmost professionalism.
• DOHMH Food Protection Certificate a plus
• Excellent customer service skills and eager and positive
• Able to work early mornings and weekends which will be required with this role.
• Committed to incredible teamwork, able to balance team and individual responsibilities.

Additional requirements:

• Must be able to lift/move up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
• Must be available Weekends
