Job Details

Yokai is a Hi-Fi cocktail bar and charcoal grill inspired by travel throughout Japan. The focus of our kitchen is sourcing pristine Japanese and Californian ingredients and preparing them simply.


An ideal candidate has experience in restaurant management as well as the ability to lead, educate and motivate the team to provide exceptional guest experiences. A strong background in wine is preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and operate the dining room floor and improve the quality of service

Operate the dining room floor and assist in maintaining and enforcing service standards

Support GM in all operational aspects of the business including management of staff and administrative duties

Independently take on opening and closing duties with a strong attention to detail

Assist in creating protocols, train and maintain staff standards and ensure consistent execution

Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, invoicing, inventory and equipment needs

Assist with cost control & profitability

Must convey a strong sense of urgency and passion for hospitality


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of restaurant experience with some management experience

Functional understanding of operational systems such as POS, reservation systems and restaurant accounting management systems

Broad knowledge of food and beverage

Must be familiar with CA liquor laws

Must be at least 21 years of age


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Ability to work productively and independently with little supervision

Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work to meet

deadlines

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Must have good judgment, versatility, flexibility

Motivated and good team player who takes initiative

Must have a courteous, friendly and professional manner


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Standing/walking approximately 90% of shift

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift and grasp to perform routine tasks for up

to 6 hours at a time

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently


REQUIRED HOURS:

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays


Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($25.00 - $30.00)
