Position Summary
Line Cooks are special individuals who are career minded, goal oriented and hard working. In their position they are expected to communicate with staff daily with questions about pars, recipes, and inventory. They are required to complete all lists and maintain a clean workspace. General duties include but are not limited to preparation of food, work stations and the Back of the House.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares dishes of The Grey restaurant according to established recipes and standards of execllence
- Completes allotted prep projects daily
- Anticipates weekly prep projects and understands how to prioritize them
- Assists with unpacking and putting away daily deliveries
- Maintains an orderly and clean walk-in refrigerator(s) and freezer
- Manages challenges with a positive attitude
- Adheres to uniform and grooming standards
- Behaves professionally as would be expected and with operational knowledge and experience
- Adheres to the Department of Health sanitation and food handling guidelines
- Develops and maintains working relationships with all departments, including Pastry, Bread, and Front of House
Key Competencies:
- Strong work ethic and ability to successfully work within a team environment
- Ability to listen intently, process information and to provide clear and accurate results of that processing
- Reliability, punctuality, and honesty
- Possession of a current Food Handling Certification as locally required; must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
- A sense of humor and the ability to maintain a consistent demeanor with peers and managers
