Apply to join the growing Thattu team! Thattu is an Indian comfort food concept featuring cuisine from the southwestern coastal state of Kerala. Our food stall turned brick and mortar restaurant has received both local and national recognition - and most recently included in the NY Times Restaurant List 2023.

We are currently seeking full time and part time prep cooks to join our culinary crew who are passionate, creative and care deeply about the food they create.

* We are operating a tip-less model and will provide a competitive hourly rate + revenue share (food, alcohol, retail) based on hours

Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- 2 years+ of kitchen experience preferred
- Willingness to learn a new cuisine

- Get along well with others and be a team player
* Prep Cook is responsible for preparing large batches of food items and ingredients needed for menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests
- Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
- Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure
- Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels
- Maintain food safety and quality standards
- Ability to read a thermometer correctly
- Maintain menu item counts and communicate to chefs when quantities are low
- Accurately account for all items prepped
- Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
- Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
- Other duties will be assigned as needed
- Food Handler Certificate required
