Thomas Preti Events to Savor is a full service, off-premise events company offering catering, event production, custom design, and staffing. Our diverse clientele ranges from corporate conferences, receptions, and product launches to private social events, weddings, and mitzvahs, and nonprofit galas and fundraisers. Our commissary kitchen & warehouse is in Long Island City, Queens. With our years of success behind us we are now in need of adding new talent to meet the continued growth of the business. JOB DETAILS:

A pastry chef is a member of our top-tier culinary production team working directly with Executive Pastry Chef Paul Nolan and under leadership of Executive Chef Chris Tonti . Our Pastry Department works in a high-volume production kitchen environment preparing desserts and sweets for high-end, off-premise events.. This position is ideal for someone with pasty experience and/or pastry education looking to learn various elements of the catering & events industry, directly under the executive pastry chef.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Production kitchen environment
  • 3-8 years pastry experience
  • Schedule flexibility, working weekends and/or evenings when necessary
  • Working knowledge of baking techniques, measuring methods, & ingredients
  • Health & safety work practices with equipment (ex. knives, blenders, mixers)
  • Ability to follow direction and focus on completing multi-step tasks
  • Attention to detail is key
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Clean work practices reflected in routine production and awareness of all food safety standards (NYC Food Protection Certificate a plus)
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and hard working
