At District Events & Catering, part of 1218 Kitchen Group, in Atlanta, GA, we're on the lookout for an experienced Director of Sales to lead and manage our sales team in selling and planning off premise catered events. The Director of Sales is accountable for motivating and managing the sales team, growing revenue with existing accounts and developing new client relationships through outside sales. This position requires a well rounded and experienced catering sales professional.

DEC caters and plans and executes experiential corporate and social off-premise events in Atlanta, the metro, and across state lines.

LEADERSHIP

  • Hire, coach, mentor, train and develop a confident and effective sales team. Lead by example; assess and address training needs; implement plans for team learning and advancement.
  • Ensure that we consistently improve closing ratios throughout our sales process.
  • Oversee sales team in preparation of proposals, contracts, BEOs, invoices, and client-facing materials.
  • Providing ongoing support and structured feedback through 1218 Collective's continuous performance management program. This will include weekly 1:1s, quarterly goal setting and annual performance reviews.
  • Establish, record and enforce ongoing SOP’s related to sales process, staffing, production, and execution.
  • Coordinate and communicate sales related activities with all department managers as needed.
  • Host, attend and participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions with the sales team and other departments.

FINANCIAL

  • The Director of Sales is responsible for setting the strategy and goals for sales, as well as for developing a reporting structure that tracks the effectiveness of this strategy. The Director will partner with the CFO and Accounting department to develop an accurate final billing and collection of account receivables. The Director will also work with leadership to create plans and goals for sales revenue. The Director will manage individual sales expense budgets, including negotiating discounts and ensuring that all expenses are within budget.

OPERATIONS

  • The Director of Sales will work collaboratively with the Service and Operations teams to ensure we are providing the highest level of customer service, developing a culture of no clients should be a one-time client, and working collaboratively with Culinary Team in the development of quality, creativity, and timely presentations of food for tastings, client gifts and proposals.
  • As Director of Sales you will manage a team of salespeople that sell on behalf of the company. You will be responsible for developing strategy for growth in revenue by creating new opportunities for potential clients to engage your products or services. You will manage existing client relationships through effective communication, account management and relationship building.
  • You will also be expected to attend events as required or needed.


ADMINISTRATIVE

  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about the company's vision and committed to growing our business. They must be able to partner with Human Resources in creating employee life-cycle training initiatives, implement policies and procedures that establish solid infrastructure for growth, maintain an exemplary level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues, develop a holistic understanding and fulfill the company vision, core values, and perform other relevant duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years experience selling and maintaining an events related sales portfolio in the Atlanta metro market
  • Experience managing and leading a team of sales professionals
  • Relationships with Atlanta corporate and/or social clients, venues and event vendors
  • Some experience in event catering sales, production and execution
  • Capable of embodying and teaching our Company Core Values with a particular emphasis on Passion, Caring and Collaboration
  • Friendly, intelligent, motivated and self-aware
  • Ability to discuss finances, budgets, cuisine and beverage offerings with clients and internally among 1218 Collective departments
  • Ability to develop and execute sales plans and strategies in order to meet sales expectations and goals
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that MAY include evenings and weekends to experiential value of events
