We are looking for a motivated leader who will support the direction of the the Executive Chef in leading our culinary operatioins to maintain all standards at the highest levels. The role will require oversight of and be responsible for all back of house operations; including but not limited to, menu development and execution, ordering and inventory systems, labor management, meeting all sanitary guidelines, fostering a positive culture and the creation of all effective BOH training programs.
Gather is a ten-year highlight of bustling Lincoln Square, thriving on the loyal following we’ve built within the community and an amazing reputation within the Chicago dining scene. We’ve fine-tuned a high-level neighborhood dining experience focused on inspired culinary standards, but with a warm and friendly vibe in our beautifully designed space. Our open-air Dining Room and enclosed patio keeps us busy year round.
Our Chef-driven menu highlights handcrafted dishes prepared from scratch, offering a collection of signature dishes, rotating items showcasing local and seasonal ingredients as well as featured whimsical creations based on the season’s offerings!
While the position requires a leader skilled in team motivation, the candidate will also be responsible for all technical processes within a continuously creative culinary outlet, offering many different dining experiences, including our seasonally changing dinner menu, a “Chef’s Counter” Tasting Experience and our season long Farmer’s Series.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Menu creation and execution
- Maintaining food and labor cost goals
- Proper organization and cleanliness of all areas of the kitchen
- Quality control of all food items
- Training and the improvement of all line cooks and prep team
- Achieving exceptional guest and employee satisfaction levels
- Upholding of the brand standards and procedures
- Ensuring proper food safety and sanitation of all aspects of food production
- Stage/Tasting will be required for consideration.
